And that is always a happy time!

This time I was trying a different type of hotel on soi 22; The Honey house for a whopping $22 a night. I think im going to appreciate the more laid back atmosphere of soi 22 and still alot of action on your doorstep. What it does not have is a swimming pool. But as I understand for a small fee you can use the swimming pools of other hotels nearby?

Budget Planning
After becoming more concious of my expenditure on my last trip to Thailand and the woes of trying to access my money I had loaded my Nationwide card with £500. This was the first time I was using this card, so was going to see how it went. I also took a Visa and Mastercard as backup. Before hand, I had rung them all up and told them I would be in Thailand and possibly Jakarta Indonesia over the three week period and NOT to block my cards! Nationwide told me they never block their cards. So Nationwide was definitely looking the way to go. I also ordered some Thai Baht online with Travelex to pick up before departing from the UK. Like to have some cash on arrival. The exchange rate at this time was not good, seems the Thai baht was getting stronger; 60.6673 for £1, Usually around 65. So far flight is alot more expensive, poor exchange rate and I have no job, so was digging into savings and not wages, but we only live once. Also reports were coming in the girls in Bangkok were asking for 3000babt and not coming down.

In fact the best exchange rate you can get is to take your pounds or dollars into a Thai bank and change directly there. Problem is don't like to carry all that cash around with me. Bangkok Bank publish there daily exchange rates here.
If you are staying along time, it all adds up and why give away money for nothing? Plus the banks are open 24/7 at Bangkok Airport.

The flight from London to Budapest and then Budapest to Bangkok went well. No hiccups and no delays. The plane was full but I managed to get a good seat with no rows in front and more leg room.
